EMDX 1975
Built in May of 1975, this prototype was built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors. First operated by Penn Central, then later Amtrak and Conrail, #1975 was eventually scrapped in the mid 80's after the need for an order of these locomotives was no longer required due to Conrail scaling back its electrified lines. This shot was taken circa 1977 as the unit sat in Pavonia Yard. (Note the Conrail NW2 switcher behind #1975)
