| Five D class were ordered by the Western Australian Government Railways to haul bauxite services. These were followed by seven DA class locomotives. These differed in not having dynamic brakes and were 12 tonnes lighter. They went from Westrail to Australian Railroad Group and later eight passed to QR National with the Western Australian operations. In January 2015 the DAZ1902, DAZ1903, DAZ1904, DAZ1905 and DAZ1906 were exported to South Africa. They were part of a total of 23 locomotives of various Class / Types (all diesel), that arrived in Durban, South Africa, from Fremantle in Western Australia aboard the “Fairlift”. |
