| After swapping cars at the Expera Specialty Solutions (formerly Thilmany Paper) mill, the CN local to kaukauna from Neenah climbs back uphill from the Fox River to get back to the mainline. Along the way upgrade, the train crosses an old CNW swing bridge across a navigational canal for the Fox River. The canal was out of service and dry for many years, but the locks and navigation system were all re-opened from Green Bay to Lake Winnebago in the fall of 2015. Shortly thereafter, the last lock to Lake Winnebago was closed due to an invasive species of fish being found below the lock. |
