PRR 4-6-2 #5388 - Pennsylvania RR  Contributor's Pick!       
Here a crew member stands on the running board to give the 1927 PRR Juniata Shops built K-4s Paciifc a check and a wipe. Specifics - serial #3913, K-4s, 80" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 27x28" cylinders, engine weight of 304,500 lb, tractive effort of 44,460 lb. The loco was retired and scrapped in August of 1956. The location and date were not given so approximates were used. Unknown photographer. Robert Hess General The K4s appears to be No. 5388. I believe the phot was taken at least ten years earlier. It still has the superheater damper above the running board just behind the steam pipe to the cylinders and class lamps on the smokebox. 10/15/2020 9:46:08 PM
