DRGW 4-8-4 #1804 - Denver & Rio Grande Western  Contributor's Pick!       
This sharp looking powerhouse gets a once over by a nattily clad individual while another gentleman climbs up to talk to the crew. Built by Bladwin in 1938, this "Western" type locomotive (Denver & Rio Grande Western preferred that label over the more common "Northern") exudes power and grace. Specifics - class M-68, 73" drivers, impressive 285 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 479,360 lb, traqctive effort of 67,299 lb. All were scrapped by 1956.
