Working the siding  Contributor's Pick!
NYSW would use the siding just south of Chenango Forks as a relay point for cars going up the Syracuse Branch, and sometimes for car storage. They often had a string of stored hoppers there. D&H 5017 has the honor of working BH 1 today, which is moving cars in and out of the siding. It has pulled up to the switch for the Syracuse Branch, which is in the foreground. Hes on the Utica Branch, which saw service almost daily at that time.
