The engineer saw me taking photos up on the hillside and recognized me from the day before. He gave a friendly toot on the whistle - also a photogenic bonus steam plume for a "down" train. That's Mount Clay in the upper right of the photo. I had climbed up that long ridgeline up to Mt Clay earlier in the morning to gain my hoped-for photo spot at Jacobs Ladder |
