Another iconic item was this double headed "Little Joe" electric locomotive built by GE in May of 1949, originally ordered by Russia but cancelled, hence the nickname after Joseph Stalin. The unit has the 2-D-D-2 wheel arrangement. Luckily it survives at the Illinois Rwy Museum where it has been lovingly restored to its shiny brilliant orange and silver paint scheme. No date was given for this photo but it appears it was a rail fan trip in the mid-1960's. No photographer listed.
