| The former Milwaukee Road bridge across the Rock River at Mayville. The line ran to Fond du Lac from Iron Ridge off the original La Crosse and Milwaukee alignment that ran thru Horicon to Portage on it's way to the Mississippi. The line became part of the Wisconsin and Southern when the Milwaukee sold it off and was abandoned north of Mayville by the WSOR. Though it would not be difficult to reinstate the track in town to this bridge and beyond, it is currently truncated at the Seneca (last that I knew of, canning plants seem to change hands often)) canning plant. |
