| The area around 2nd St and Willis Av in Mineola was bounded on two sides by the LIRR Main Line and the Oyster Bay branch. The railroad used it for storage, and just about anything could turn up there. It did not make for a scenic photo, and was on the "dark side" most of the day anyway. The light wasnt too bad this day, and I caught the GP 38 class unit leading a Ronkonkoma train past Nassau Tower-seen above the next to last car of the train-on its way east. |
