BR1 35006
Almost 300 steam locomotives were sold to Woodham Brothers, scrap merchants of Barry Island, South Wales in the mid 1960's. Dai Woodham suspended scrapping of locomotives due to the falling price of scrap metal and a legend was born. 213 steam locomoives were saved from this location and many of these have been restored to full working order. Others await the necessary cash. After a long wait, almost 50 years since wihdrawal, 35006 (far right) will return to steam in 2015.
