Stone to Holtsville  Contributor's Pick!
RF 56, a weekend train that ran the Main Line, rolls through B Towers interlocking with 35 cars of stone for Prema Asphalt in Holtsville. They were a big seasonal customer on the LIRR, getting several trainloads of stone per week from a quarry in Connecticut via the P&W. The track in the foreground is the Central Branch, which runs to a connection with the Babylon Branch just west of the Babylon station. It is used by RF 64/65 and a host of commuter trains.
