I don't know why it got burnt, but must have been pretty hot, I don't know what part of the engine is in that location, anybody know???

The main reason why GEs get a lot of fires in this particular part of the engine is because the fuel injection system uses braided steel tubing which inevitably leaks due to the vibration of the engine and the extraordinary pressure within. That means diesel fuel leaks out and drips onto the engine. If the engine doesn’t receive the routine engine cleaning that it requires; the risk of an engine fire becomes ever more so present.
