AMTK Sleeper 2651 SILVER SHORE         
Amtrak 2651, named SILVER SHORE, in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in March 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 2651 was built by Budd on Job 9660-019, ordered in October 1945, delivered between September and November 1948. This car was one of 19 10-Roomette, 6-Bedroom (10-6) sleeping cars configured to Pullman Plan 9509. These cars were for the California Zephyr and were divided among the four participating railroads; six cars were assigned as CB&Q, five cars D&RGW, seven cars WP, and one car PRR. The Silver Shore was CB&Q number 424, later, BN 424, before going to Amtrak, retired in October 1983. It went to Quad Graphics and was assigned number PPCX 800062. Note the child observing from one of the middle windows.
