CNW 2-8-2 #2709         
Built by Alco, the Class-J 2-8-2 was the pride of the C&NW #400" passenger fleet. These engines were capable of producing speeds of over 100 mph and were in scheduled service producing average speeds of over 60 MPH including stops. Date and location of the photo is accurate.
