"B" Stands For Beast  Contributor's Pick!
BNSF SD40-2B - 302 This unit has bounced around the number ranges since the BN & Santa Fe merger but one thing remains....shes still a work horse. Currently working the hump in the BNSF Galesburg Yard. Built in 1973 for the Burlington Northern as a regular SD40-2 as number 6812. At some point in history she was a wrecked unit but the BN saved it and made a "B" unit out of the remaining pieces. Upon rebuild completion the new number 7502 was given and worn through the beginning of the merger. Eventually moved to the number of 7199 to make room for the DC Gevos and then later to the current number 302 to make room for the C4 Gevos.
