LIRR MU #1023 - Long Island RR  Contributor's Pick!       
Some conflicts in researching the origin of this car but it appears to have been built by American Car & Foundry in 1905 as a class MP-41, the first class of electric MU's to serve LIRR. It had a 41 foot interior. Date and location are approximate. Unknown photographer.
