Station and tower  Contributor's Pick!
The station at Denville sits right between the Morristown Line on the right, and the Boonton Line on the left. The Boonton Line, during EL days, hosted the freights that would come off the cut off and head for Croxton. By this time, it was mostly commuter trains, Conrail having shifted its remaining trains on former EL lines to the ex Erie east of Binghamton, and most of the traffic to the ex PRR or NYC generally. The tower in the background controlled the switches and signals here, and was still active at this time. Note the EL speed sign at left on the Boonton Line.
