BNSF Transfer Job Y-BIR103 crosses over from NA #3 to NA #2 as they pass through Control Point 2nd Avenue in Birmingham, Al. on their way to interchange with NS at North Yard & return back to East Thomas Yard with interchange from NS, the 2048 is a former MKT/EMDX GP40 rebuilt to GP38-2 sepcifications & the 2046 is a former Penn Central/Conrail/GMTX GP38-2 & are nicknamed Smurfs for their blue & white paint scheme of which BNSF only has a handful of
