BNSF'S Birmingham Sub  Contributor's Pick!
BNSF Northbound Empty Taconite Train U-BIRSEM ( Birmingham, Al. to Steelton, Mn. ) has just departed East Thomas Yard to begin their journey to Memphis, Tn. via the Birmingham Sub & destined for Steelton, Mn. to be loaded with more taconite to be delivered back to Flint Ridge for U.S. Steel, definitely nice to see something other than the ever so prevelant sea of orange that BNSF presents on most of their trains, luckily Birmingham is still a great place to catch some awesome consists on all the railroads that run in the steel city of the south of Birmingham, Al. The BNSF Transfer is among my favorite BNSF trains to catch in the Birmingham area & the L-840 as well that run with the older 4 axle power & some still in predecessor paint schemes such as BN & Santa Fe
