| Railroading is a 24-hour per day operation, as evidenced by an eastbound manifest heading through the yard, about to overtake another eastbound. This is the old Barstow yard, with the engine facility leads just behind the yard towers leg. The new yard, still in service today, opened in 1976, and is located just to the west, behind the photographers position. The old yard is still there, but has been downgraded and sees a lot fewer cars than this now. |
