BNSF Railway train H-KCKBAR9-04A (High Priority Merchandise; Kansas City KS to Barstow CA) rolls through East Danby, California, on the railroad's Transcon mainline across the vast Mojave Desert, and past a cut of stored intermodal well cars on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. On the point of this 4987' train (66 loads, 16 empties and 9042 tons) is one of the BNSF's A-1-A trucked ES44C4 diesels - a model found (so far) only on the BNSF. 6914 is followed by Dash 9-44CWs 766 (still in the very popular "Superfleet" scheme) and 4435, with a fourth locomotive (Dash 9-44CW 4308) as the rear-end DPU. Note that all three of the lead engines are in different BNSF paint schemes. |
