NS Southbound Local Freight Train A50 ( Birmingham to Attalla, Al. Turn ) passing through Springville, Al. on their way back to Norris Yard in Irondale, Al. with a trio of PR43C's for power with the lead unit 4000 being the Class unit. The PR43C is built by Progress Rail Services with a 4,300 Horsepower Caterpillar Engine, a 3,600 Horsepower C175 & a 700 Horsepower C17 Caterpillar Engine

William H. Davis Jr. General 4000's was a K5 sounding horn, 4001's horn sounded weaker than when it was 1st running, like someone turned the valve a little so it wouldn't be as loud, 4001's horn sounds like a K3 9/25/2012 9:03:38 AM
