MKT 3161         
KINGFISHER OK June 17 1983 -- Missouri Kansas Texas GP40 3161 switches grain cars on its trip south. This was the north-south main line of the now bankrupt Rock Island. The 3161 is patched MKT but not yet renumbered to 247. It was built (s/n 34338) in 1968 for Penn Central as PC 3161, became Conrail 3161,adcuired by Katy in 1983 as MKT 247, became UP 682 on Dec 27 1990 and then UP 9964 on April 12 2000. It was retired on JUne 20 2001.
