AMTK Lake Shore
This car was attached to Coast Starlight. Keep thinking it was being used by the NRHS for this trip. Any help identifying this car further would be appreciated.

Rick Morgan General It appears to have a section/double bedroom/duplex roomette configuration and from the Lake Shore NRHS Chapter back when Amtrak required all private cars to wear their scheme. What does it say in the blue area? 8/14/2012 8:20:22 AM
Rick Morgan General One possible candidate is GN Pass-class plan 4107 sleeper with 4 Sections, 4 D/B, 4 D/R. 8/14/2012 8:24:53 AM
Jerry LaBoda General GN 1273 "Pend O'Reille River" PS 8 Duplex Roomette - 3 Double Bedroom - 1 Compartment - 4 Section sleeper, owned by the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society. The reason for the Amtrak striping is because, at that time, AMTK was requiring all cars to carry the striping if they were to be operated on AMTK trains. Only a few privately owned cars received the striping while a fair number of railroad business cars also were so painted, ICG, SCL and SP being among them. 8/14/2012 4:59:46 PM
S.L. Dixon General Thank You Rick and Jerry for your quick response. So what reporting mark should this car have to be found by anyone in the future? 8/15/2012 2:45:21 AM
Jerry LaBoda General LSR likely would be appropriate for the car as it is shown. For a long time the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society used the imitials LSR for their cars but they never registered the initials with the appropriate authorities. More recently when they tried to register them they found that everything that would work for them had already been taken so they now have the initals ENEX as a nod to the Erie and North Eastern, which was a predecessor of the Lake Shore. 1/9/2013 10:37:21 PM
