DME SD40-3 #6075 on CP 257-24 (Last Ever CP 257)  Contributor's Pick!
The last ever regularly-scheduled Canadian Pacific 257 (Oak Island, NJ to Bethelehem, PA) trackage rights mixed freight train heads west through Bound Brook, New Jersey at the western edge of the Conrail Shared Assets Lehigh Line. Once going through Port Reading Junction, the train would continue west on the Norfolk Southern Lehigh Line to its destination of River Yard in Bethelehem, Pennsylvania. The train was 68 cars long. The crew made several references to this being the last 257 over the radio. After 257 passed NS 32A, who was working Manville, 32A gave 257 a "good on the marker". 257 replied "Thank you! Last time you'll be givin' us that!" And so another piece of railroading in the area becomes a piece of history ...
