C&NW S12M 1078
C&NW S12M 1078 in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in September 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. According to the CNW sign just to the right of the locomotive, this location is 1400 N. Elston Avenue. Looks like a Chicago mobster's ride (er, I mean, a Lincoln Town Car) in the frame, I better get outta here. According to the clock in the steeple, it's a quarter to four. Number 1078 was built by Baldwin in September 1952 as C&NW S12 1108 (c/n 75196), rebuilt by the C&NW in 1964-65 using new EMD 12-567C and retaining the Baldwin hood, renumbered to second 1078 in 1974, retired in June 1980, disposition unknown.
