| HEREFORD TX Oct 8 1988 -- Santa Fe SD40u 5017 hauls a TOFC train westbound on the north end of town. EMD built the 5017 as ATSF 1717 (s/n 32053) and delivered it blue with yellow ends. In became ATSF 5017 during the 1969-1970 general renumbering and was repainted to yellow warbonnet. In December 1980 the San Bernardino CA shops rebuilt it into an SD40u. It was transferred to BNSF on Sept 22 1995. On Oct 3 1998 it was patched and renumbered 6315.
