AMTK 526         
FORT WORTH TX February 1974 -- Amtrak SDP40F 526 leads the northbound Texas Chief as its crew awaits departure clearance. EMD built the 526 (b/n 72694-27) in July 1973. Santa Fe acquired the unit in September 1984. In February 1985 it was rebuilt as an SDF40-2, repainted and renumbered to ATSF 5255. In April 1994 it underwent maintenance at Morrison Knudsen.
