Southbound UP Loaded Coal Train  Contributor's Pick!
Shades of the Katy? Nope, not that green and yellow, but these Ex-MKT Rails certainly saw a lot of it not so long ago (23 years give or take a few months). It's UP 6726, former CNW 8824, tied down in Dunlay Siding on the UP Parsons Sub., MP 67 south of Kansas City on UP Train CWTFG9 15, and was headed for the Oklahoma Gas & Electric Fort Gibson, OK Power Plant, which broke down, forcing UP to park the train here at 23:36 on the 16th. These shots were taken basically 23 hours after that on the night of the 17th.
