Alamogordo Local Waiting to Head South Editors Pick! Contributor's Pick!
Rock Island GP40 384 is prepared to take the SP's Alamogordo (NM) local south to El Paso in September 1973. Seven boxcars and an SP caboose make up the entire train today. Traffic was mostly for a wood mill in town along with the occasional car dropped off for the Air Force.
