Retired engines
Retired Alcos (one EMD) at the Saginaw Roundhouse, Saginaw, Michigan. Engine #469 is still in its old Detroit & Mackinac Railway colors, built 9-1946. They were the 1st Railroad to fully dieselize from steam! This is one of their 1st diesels! I've never seen it run, this is the best that I've done! It's worth saving of course! Photographs taken here under strict permission guidelines from an employee who will remain unknown. This is not public property of course. (Mamiya RB67 Medium Format film camera, Fuji NPH 400 print film)

Gregory Garbacz General Mostly older Detroit & Mackinaw units. D&M numbered their units based on the year and month of purchase. 469 was purchase in April 1969, 181 in January 1981 ect. Hope this helps in Identifying former D&M units. Great composition, by the way! I'm jealous! 4/11/2011 7:12:42 AM
Fred Stuckmann General Cool. 8/13/2011 8:40:40 PM
Alan Fricker General I like the lineup AND the fact that a film camera was used! Long live medium format! 8/13/2011 9:52:37 PM
