| CSXT U18B 1891 at Brighton Park on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois on December 21, 1987, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 1891 was built in December 1973, (c/n 36410) as SCL 253, later becoming SBD 253 renumbered to SBD 1891, then CSX 1891, and sold to Sequatchie Valley. Too bad I didn't frame the shot better and get the whole Campbell's Soup watertower. Might have a better shot in the reject file. As I recall, this was the last manually-controlled crossing in the city limits of Chicago. |
