| Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 Mikado #571 is still active at this late date. Most of its sister Mikados have been retired or at least sitting in the storage/scrap line. History - Baldwin, 11/1920 serial #54158 class L-2a nee-MILW 8271, renumbered in 6/1938 to MILW 571. The loco was retired and scrapped in December of 1954. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 287,600 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
