Jerry LaBoda General The problem with the statement above is that it isn't true. The car is a Brill Model 55 (formerly a freight version) which originally was built for Sperry Rail Service as #116 and later renumbered to 121. After Sperry service the car was sold to Remington Arms and used to transport ordinances at their site. The Valley Rwy. purchased the car from Remington, rebuilding it to a passenger carrying car. It was later sold to Mount Dora Tavares & Eustis, and later still Mt. Dora & Lake Eustis. I have links that will back up this claim if you are interested. The car was rebuilt by Edwards for its service on the Mt Dora Tavares & Eustis but never has been an interurban car. 9/28/2010 10:50:30 PM
James Gillin General Jerry is wrong. This car was made from a Brill car. Look toward the center of the car and notice the two wider window posts. There was a door here when the car was built. It was removed when the P&W re built the car for 70 mph operation when the Brill Bullet cars arrived. I can post photos of the cars when they operated on the P&W, PSTC, SEPTA. 9/29/2010 1:23:56 AM
