Westbound "Desert Wind" in Blue Cut  Contributor's Pick!
Amtrak 35, the westbound "Desert Wind", is about 2 hours late and not surprising, being led by the UP unit. Must have had some problems on the old LA&SL.

Ron Moraca General Excellent photo, Carl! UP to the rescue! What was wrong with the Amtrak unit? 10/25/2008 9:42:11 PM
gordon vincent General I was the regular engineer on this run.I am the engineer on this, with assistant engr Louie Pesevik. This train came into Vegas with this set up.I can't remember the reason why.I think the F40 was headend power only.We can do all speeds not exceeding 70MPH with a frt unit. 5/9/2012 6:42:07 PM
