Built in March 1939 as road number 1603 (c/n 69077) it was renumbered to 983, class 6-AS on the Milwaukee and retired in January 1961. It was originally assigned to Marquette, Iowa. Also seen is Davenport 44 ton 997, one of only two on the Milwaukee and classed as 3.8-DS, built in January 1942 as road number 1709 (c/n 2365), retired in August 1958. It was originally assigned to Tama, Iowa. |
