BNSF #7304 at Hill 582
The flat spot on the hill to the left with the trees and the stacked stone retaining walls is a well known train watching site known as "Hill 582." The name comes from its location at mile post 58.20 on the BNSF Cajon Subdivision (the track that the train is on). Union Pacifics Palmdale Cutoff which is part of U.P.s Mojave Subdivision, is the track that is located just above the train. Here, an Eastbound BNSF piggyback train heads up the pass on a warm February morning. Cajon Pass, San Bernardino County California.
