GM&O RS2 1507 Editors Pick!
Alco RS units were never common on the GM&O in New Orleans, although they did show up from time to time, especially on extra trains. We don't know why RS2 1507 is in New Orleans, but here it is switching on the south ladder track. The yard was double ended, but it was always worked from the south end. The north yard lead was the connection with the L&N.

Road crews switched the yard with road power. Sometimes inbound train No. 33's crew would take their rest in one of the house trailers at the yard, and then return to Bogalusa on No. 32. At other times, someone would drive a fresh crew down from Bogalusa for No. 32 and take No. 33's crew back home. (approximate date)
