BN 2544
BN train 139 crosses the SP Modoc Line at Stronghold. The signals guarding this crossing were the only ones on either line. The four black hoppers first out in the train will be set off at Tionesta for pumice loading. BN 2544 was originally CB&Q 998, as evidenced by the nose headlight. She was retired 4/87 and scrapped 8/87 by St. Louis Auto Shredding. Date of photo approximate.
