CB&Q FT 113A
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad FT 113A eastbound at Naperville, Illinois on April 14, 1962, photograph by Chuck Zeiler. Built in August 1944 (c/n 2189) on EMD Order E561, this was the lead unit of FT locomotive 113, an A-B-B-A set of FT's. During the early 1950's the suffix letter was added as some of the FT sets were broken up. Sorry about the odd angle, as I recall, I was told to mow the lawn, and I wasn't happy about that. As I was mowing, the crossing gates started dropping, and I pondered whether to continue mowing, or run in and grab my camera. As you can see, I opted for the latter, but I was too late.

Gregg Bartley General Look how closely the A and B units are coupled. That doesn't even look like it would make it around a tight curve. Thanks for the photo and the story! I like this angle myself. 3/10/2014 1:57:42 PM
