Jerry LaBoda General Actually former hospital ward car. What the Museum uses it for... well, that's another story. 9/21/2009 12:14:53 PM
Mark Hillgartner General Car #1000 built for the US Army in 1943 by ACF. Was used to transport returning wounded combatants from port to US hospitals. Saw service during Korean War, the Strtegic Command converted to a communications car during Vietnam. Government then surplussed car, and it went through 3 private owners before the museum acquired it in a pretty gutted condition. Not needing a Hospital car nor having passengers clamoring to ride in a triple stacked bunk the Museum repurposed the car as a dining/concession car. 4/3/2019 6:29:46 PM
