Old rail
This 90 lb. rail dated for 1918 on the DME is no more. This was replaced with 136 lb. welded rail about 2 weeks later. The stories if it could tell.

I wonder if the 12 //// mean it was rolled in December of 1918. Given the condition of the ties it looks like it was replaced not a day too soon given todays much heavier cars and locos.
