| Burlington Northern Railroad SD24 6240 at Cicero, Illinois, on an unknown day in August 1981, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built as CB&Q 500 in May 1959 (c/n 25197) on EMD Order 5598, it became BN 6240 sometime after the March 2, 1970 merger, and was retired in June 1982. It is seen here in the dead line at Cicero ten months before the retirement date. |
