GM&O 5999 at Saint Louis, Missouri, August 14, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. I could not find out much about this particular car, but there is a car one number lower, 5998, at the Museum of Transportation, and here is the description: GULF, MOBILE & OHIO #5998 Parlor-Observation Lounge 1935 Builder:American Car & Foundry Round-end observation; aluminum-bodied car; used on B&O Royal Blue 1935- 1937, then on Alton/GM&O Abraham Lincoln.

Stu Slaymaker General It was converted into a restaurant & parked in the Western Suburbs of St.Louis. It was reportedly known as the "Clayton Depot". I drove all over Clayton one day, but could never find it. May have been scrapped. Last known pic was in GM&OHS Mag 1980s painted U.P.! 4/7/2011 10:02:07 AM
