Ron Moraca General William, those ancient Alcos just keep on truckin'!! This C420 has probably had numerous owners before. Remarkable photo!!! The MP15T's a youngster, compared to the super oldie M.U'd to it!!! 4/25/2009 11:57:41 PM
William H. Davis Jr. General Thanks Ron, Birmingham is a big attraction for odd switchers & railroads passing through, which is fine with me. I've seen some unbelievable oddball power coming through on their way to different locations all over the U.S. 6/21/2009 7:59:25 PM
Tim Darnell General Yes, it was built for the Long Island as their #207. I hear its "ailing" and up for sale. Nice catch, William! 9/20/2009 8:37:06 PM
Switchman Images General I think the fact that it was in greater Birmingham was it's curtain call. While I can't find anything on Google, a friend told me today that it was scrapped about a year ago, and it's frame was / will be used for a future project. Based on this location, I'm going to speculate it may have been scrapped at Progress Rail in Albertville, AL. 12/5/2010 8:40:29 PM
William H. Davis Jr. General Thanks Tim, That would be my guess as well Eric 12/5/2010 9:06:50 PM
