Tony Fernandez	General	Neat shot of two of the EMD SD45 demonstrator units. Unit #4353 is something of a curiosity since it was the only one of the demonstrators produced with an "L-shaped" engineer's side front window. As far as I know, only the SP ordered SD45s with that option. Also note the low mounted brake cylinders on the trucks which was carried over onto the early production units. Production dates for the SD45s have been cited as starting Feb 1965, so I'm wondering about the Jan 1963 photo date accompanying this picture.	1/6/2009 9:59:27 PM
