Jerry LaBoda	General	This car is not a rebuild. It is a center car for the New Haven's "Roger Williams" train, the only one (classified as a RDCB) of three center cars that survived a crash not long after delivery, the other two were scrapped. Great shot!!!	1/1/2009 3:58:40 AM

Paul Cutler III	General	This is NOT an RDC-9. The RDC-9's were conventional RDC's without end windows. This pic is of an RDC B-unit for the NH's "Roger Williams". These were 6" lower than an RDC, had 100 more Hp, swing hanger trucks, different fluting, one vestibule, and square roof ends (not rounded). They also had 3rd rail gear when new and traction motors on the outer axles. Just compare this unit to the conventional RDC on the right.	9/26/2009 11:27:12 AM

Paul Cutler III	General	Oh, and I should have said that the "Roger" had four B-units when new, plus the two A-units. Both A's and one B still survive today, and are undergoing more restoration at the Hobo RR in New Hampshire. And AFAIK, the "Roger" never had a wreck on the NH. The NH tried to turn one B-unit into a diner, but the idea failed and the train was broken up and used in the general RDC fleet. At that time, the "diner" RDC was scrapped before it was finished. Two B's were scapped post-NH, but both A's went to Amtrak and the last B went to MARC. Now all 3 are privately owned.	9/26/2009 11:33:11 AM
