CSS&SB Line Car #50  Contributor's Pick!
It had an insulated, probably raisable, platform to stand on to repair the overhead wire. It was both highway and rail capable. T. A. Coons wrote me: "Thanks for posting the photo of the CSSSB line car 50. It is a 1937 Evans Autorailer from the Arlington and Fairfax trolley line in Northern Virginia. They ran there from 1937 through 1939. The Vienna destination sign can still be read. The Washington and Old Dominion later used one as a line car with a different platform arrangement. A photo is at http://www.arlingtonva.us/departments/Libraries/history/LibrariesHistoryBackPages010808.aspx "
