Tom Beckett	General	These were originally MP units that CP leased from GATX when they took over the D&H in 1991. At the time, they were GATX 2000-2009. A few years on, CP was hurting for power, and bought them, numbering them 5422-5431, just above the six ex KCS SD 40-2's they had acquired around 1993, which were renumbered 5415-5420. As built, these units did not have dynamic brakes, being from MP's general service fleet, their 3000 series. CP installed them prior to buying them from GATX. Some of this group got repainted into the Dual Flags scheme, and some went to the end in patched UP paint. For a long time, they were semi captive to the D&H, though later ran systemwide, as this photo shows.	10/19/2018 3:37:51 AM
